There seems to be a number of campers questioning the ” Boat Cache Application ” & it appears that they mosly come from folks that didn’t attend the AGM. I will try to explain what has happened .
In the late the MNR approached the Campers Ass’n . regarding our parking area & in particular the shoreline where we store our boats at the landing . I , & Clay Ingram met with the MNR at the end of March & they were quite cordial but suggested that we have a problem with the amount of garbage & derelict boats & watercraft along the shoreline. I asked that we meet at the lake after the ice is out so that we can Identify what has to be cleaned up . Also , it was brought up that there are a lot of trailers abandoned / stored for the winter . This will have to be addressed in another meeting but expect to take your trailers home for the winter .
We agreed with the idea of a Boat cache permit that will be given to each property owner . It can be downloaded from our website & the completed application forwarded to the MNR , who will issue a permit which will have to be afixed to the boat where the registration numbers are . This permit is free & must be submitted by July 7th . Boats without the permit will be subject to removal in late August . They are quite serious about this & I can tell you that a no. of boats have been removed from Scott Lake .
Also your slip / spot has to be identified with a name plate & that location will be put onto a map to be forwarded to the MNR .The map will be in place of the UTM coordinates ( which are like GPS coordinates but mean nothing to us ) so if you can let me know where your boatslip is , I’ll put it on the map .
They also don’t want any metal left in the lake , so if your ramp is metal it will have to be removable .
As this is a move that will clean up our landing/, we will have a WORKPARTY on July 16th to clean up our garbage which will have to be removed from the site. Subsequently , we will have to have the shoreline added to our Land Use Permit . Hopefully that won’t be too painful !
I expect to have a huge turnout , as this is OUR garbage & we Must as guardians , be responsible to pass along to our children , the land , as we found it .
If there are any questions further, please get in touch with me .

Hey Jerry, how is it going
Just wanted to know how can i get a parking spot for Ray Dirckx’s boat. We talked at the general meeting. Just wondering if you found one for me I would really like to get a hold of you to find it. I really appreciate your efforts. I might be going up this weekend May 14. Please let me know if anything is avaible. Also ready for clean up July 16. Do think there is boats that somebody will not claim? if so their might be some boat sales? Thank-you hope to hear from you soon.
